X20 has 2000 lbs of ballast while the XT20 has 1700. The X20 was specifically designed for wake-surfing while the XT20 was designed as a crossover. If you're not skiing, definitely go with the X20. The X20 will definitely out-surf the XT20. You are probably not going to get a dealer to sign a pending deal on a hold-over. I just researched these two boats and based on what your interests are I'd be doing the X20.

MC Boat models have a 5 year model run now, give or take, so i wouldn't worry about it being a discontinued model. And if surfing is your goal, definitely go x20 over xt

Sorry for late response. Mostly go out with just my wife so depends what you consider a small crew. I use extra ballast in rear locker for a larger wave, but most X20 owners are happy without any extra ballast. Check out my X20 review in surfing posts for description and video of wave and effect of added ballast.

Yeah small crew is me and my daughter so like you we will probably add some weight. You video and pics are great. The wave looks awesome.

I'm scheduled to take the X20 out for a test run on Monday.

I rode an X20 today. Great wave. Great boat. Any input on what is a great deal on a holdover 2018? It has zft4, tower speakers, dual screens with premium audio, rear camera, clamping racks, etc etc. Only thing I wish it had is the convertible rear seat. I think MSRP is $149k. They have it listed at $109,500. I'm trying to get it for $99999. Thats a lot of money for a 20' boat. Gotta keep at 5 figures!

We don't /can't post $$ below 20% on TT
But..
If you get it for Sub 100k you would be better off than most any buyer.
Good luck with the new ride.

Plenty of used X20s too if you can search over the winter for deals and save yourself another $20k ++
