Great boat for sure! IMO, one of the best boats MasterCraft ever made! (Though I may be a bit biased) Looking forward to seeing that gelcoat shine again! What tower do you think you'll get? I know I'd like to get a New Dimensions for mine - eventually. May still be a few years till that happens.

Not with the clear water lakes we have up in my neck of the woods.

Well, it buffed out really nice, the seats cleaned up. It ran without overheating. So for the check list has been hit for the money, I won .... if only I had a garage big enough to hold it, I should have thought this through... lol

Now for the new punch list.
1. Engine is an LT1, I hear a knock at idle but when accelerating it sounds fine. We ran it very low on oil due to a filter issue, but the engine never seized and it wasn't put under strain during that time, just idling. I am hoping this is an octane issue with the cheap gas I put in it. Anyone have any experience with it?

2. The VDrive whines, it runs smooth though. Is this just something I need to get used to coming from a direct drive to a 98 Vdrive?

2. Still trying to decide on a tower, since we wont have a dock/house anymore I need a Bimini asap, so I am looking for the best value conscious option for this boat. I just dont have 3500 to put into an NDT tower / Bimini.

I will post some pics soon they are stuck on my phone.

Just my $0.02 for a tower. I have a different one on my boat but really with I had this: Aerial Airborne 2. Looks great on any boat I have seen it on. http://www.aerialwakeboarding.com/v/...irborne-pa.asp

Mine makes almost like a knocking noise at idle while in gear, it drives me crazy, but as I understand mine uses an agricultural style V-drive unit with straight cut gears as opposed to the newer units that have helical cut gears to reduce noise and vibration. I can only hear it with the engine in gear, idling, with the hatch open, and stereo turned off... if I shut the hatch I can't hear it anymore, or I just turn up the new stereo . Like you said though, it completely goes away as soon as I give it any gas at all.

I didn't install the tower on my boat, came with it already, but if I were to install one it would probably be a New Dimension, seems really sturdy and matches body lines so well (never actually been on a boat with a ND though, so I'm going off reviews on here). Ours is surprisingly sturdy, but the Monster Tower we put on my friend's PS205 would shake all over the place every time you hit another wake, it got worse when full of wakeboards too. Do you plan to have speakers mounted up there too? That's a lot of weight too! Ours move a little more with the 4 wetsounds speakers up there now.

The gear whine from the V-Drive is normal (make sure the fluid is good). On mine, I resolved it by switching from ATF to 15w-40 motor oil in the transmission (see attached). Perhaps this will solve the knock problem you hear also.

There is also a recommendation to remove the grounding wire from the fuel fill neck attached.
