wake surf wedge with Gen 1 tabs?

Has anyone tried using a surf wedge with the Gen 1 tabs? What kind of results did you get?

wake surf wedge with Gen 1 tabs?

I have good luck using a listing method with lots of extra weight for port-side surfing. Port locker bag, bag on floor on port side, lead bags.

I have had very good results with a homemade suckgate for starboard side, but none of my crew surf goofy, so havenít used it much

The gen 1 tabs seam to make the wave longer and cleaner , but you will loose energy compared to no tabs deployed , that’s my experience on my x14v while using a wake enhancer on the side of the boat .

I have the same boat - 2013 x-30. I use a quick shift wake surf wedge - placed in the middle position (it's adjustable) and suction cupped as far back on the boat as it will secure. I had gen 2 installed over the winter and run 750's in my rear lockers. I do not list. I still use the wedge when there are 3 or fewer in the boat - it really extends the wake and cleans up the lip even better than gen 2 loaded with people.

I have gen 1 tabs and they are worthless, no push from the surf wave, wave looks good just no push, I use a mission delta wave shaper and donít even deploy the gen 1ís

I have Gen 1 and the key is to have enough ballast and to list it to the side of surfing.

I have a heavier boat with X-35, so requires more ballast than a smaller boat-I use about 2600# total with built in ballasts and pkug and play and additional bag on the floor and lead.

I have about 1000# at midship on the port side or slightly aft.

I tried filling both lockers with big bags and it just bogs down too much with Gen 1.

Played with this some last time out on my Gen1 X25. Regular wave with all ballast full and two 800s in the back as full as they can get. 40 center tab 40 surf tab and surf gate on the side. Very clean long wake with balanced ballast. Didn’t play with the goofy side as no riders that day but feel I will still need to lean the boat some.
