Had one of these for years and it has kept me ticket free but and recently upgraded to the new Escort 360 Max. It is a better radar and gives you direction of the radar along with Bluetooth capabilities but the 360 is more expensive.

I have mine on a mount that connects to my rear view mirror and it's hard wired into the mirror. No cords dangling around or lose mounts.

If you choose to go the 9500, let me know, I can sell you one with a rear view mirror mount at a discounted price. Feel free to PM me.

The Valentine1 is also a great radar but in a very classic design. I have one of these in my wife's jeep and it's awesome. The company has only one radar device and has only changed the software in 20 years. Mine was recently updated and it's a sweet radar just less flashy than the Escorts.

Hate the valentine V1. Constantly goes off with false alarms. Love the passport detectors because they have GPS and will lock out false alarms.

X2 on the Max 360. I had the 8500, Then the 9500. Just recently upgraded to the Max and will not look back. Now every time I get in my wife’s car and hers goes off, I find myself looking at it to see what direction its coming from. She has the 9500 and we will soon be upgrading it to the max as well. It is a lot of money but once you have the directional feature it’s hard to back up!

if you cant keep up stay to the right
you're more likely to get a ticket for going too slow or impeding traffic

Not a detector in the classic sense, but I use Waze. Just turn it on w/o a destination and it alerts you to police

I'll gladly go the speed limit. I'm retired and there is no place on this earth that I need to be that badly.

My wife is always saying " speed up or let me drive ".

When your stuck at the back of that long line of traffic , I'm the guy at the front .

I haven't used a radar detector in years. I may have to get one again after reading through this. I do use the Wayz app and have been impressed. It's saved me from numerous speed traps. I use it to go everywhere, mainly so that it can tell me when the police are around...
