Radar Detectors

Lets talk Radar Detectors, what are you guys using? How are you wiring it up? Things about your model you like or don't like? Any information is appreciated.

I have the same escort in all my vehicles. mine are all hard wired to the fuse box and mounted to the driver's visor.

I have heard uniden is really making a great radar also. when this one craps out I will try a uniden.

Really - You guys are still using radar detectors for real???

I thought these went by the way side with the introduction of laser & in the 90's?

To be honest, now that they have raised the highway speed limit to 70 in most states, I set my cruise at 77/78, cruise right pass & they never look twice. That's fast enough to make decent time and be safe on today's highways, IMHO. Denver is 75 if I remember correctly, which is awesome!

I rarely see officers using laser. I can get a good reading 2+ miles away on flat ground of k/Ka bands.

you don't live in the DFW area, where the norm is +100mph in a 70mph speed limit

30 mph over the post speed limit should be straight to jail with impound fees. 100+ should be automatic suspension of your driving privileges for 6 months.
