X23 with a 6.2 or a 7000 motor

I am building a 2018 x23 . I would like to put the 7000 motor but I am concerned if It will be a lot louder than the 6.2... I am on a small lake and do not want to piss off all my neibours . I am also concerned about the shaking at idle and also I seen some people had starting issue with the 7000 in a x23 ??? The reason for the 7000 is to have a lot of power , maybe have a higher top speed and rev a little less without the 2:1 tranny. Any advice ?

It’s definitely not like a go fast boat loud. What makes you concerned about the shaking?

all true, better not put any tower speakers on your X23 if you're concerned about noise and piss'n off the neighbors

6.2 will be fine on power. I had same concern with xstar, went with 6.2 after a demo

I demoed an x23 with 6.2 and the stock prop. Itís planed off with full ballast like it wasnít full. I was thinking 7000 as well, but after the demo went with the 6.2. Plus the fuel economy is much better with the 6.2. - so Iím told.

I had a 7.4 in my X23. I ordered a 6.2 in my new XStar. Love the 7.4, but the race engine nature of it does get a bit old after a while, and with a 2:1 trans the 6.2 is plenty. Where in the northeast are you? If you happen to be buying from castaway, they are familiar with the starting problem.... but I don’t think that’s an issue anymore.

Some people says that the engine run pretty rough at idle ... it might be fun for a while but when you surf all day and wait for people to be ready to go might not be fun after all ??? At the end it is only a surf /same boat ... not an offshore boat like a fountain or outerlimits !!! I never demo one so I can t tell
