I'm not really an MCX fan when it comes to footing.

But I have heard stories of the X14/214 with the right prop being able to get the job done.

It will run about 52mph with two people in the boat.

I only would get 42 out of my X14DD with the MCX with either of the 2 factory props. (3 and 4 blade from 08 and 09). I'm shocked you get 52 out of the same running surface.

I was shocked too. My X9 with the Predator 5.7 EFI would run about 54, and it was DD with less weight, using the ACME 209. The Ilmor 5.7 seems to really push this thing nicely, and 50-52 is the top speed at WOT depending on fuel in the tank and water conditions...but I can get to 48 in nearly any condition. At the same time, I really disliked the factory prop for skiing and /or surfing though. The surf wake was pretty washed out on me when heavily weighted, and the slalom wake had way too much bump at 15 off / 34 mph for me to be happy with the boat. I worked with Jim at ACME and literally tried six different props with varied trim tab configurations until I decided on the 2059 (he was vastly patient and just as interested in getting this right as I was - so "kudos" for the customer service). Perhaps I just got lucky, but I really love this boat now for the versatility. I do not barefoot, but I slalom and surf 3X per week all summer long.

P.S. I would love to have the 2013 X14 in a DD version, and it's probably the only thing that I would sell mine to buy. I would then take it straight to Texas for the GSA system, and finally have the ultimate crossover which MC refuses to build My $0.02

As crazy as this might sound, you might want to look into the coastal edition NXT. It skis better than the 14v and will have a higher top end speed.

Ah, a 214 or X14 with a 6.2L Ilmor sounds like a unicorn boat.

Can't be many of those made or ever requested by customers.

With that said, it'd be really sweet!

I'm pretty sure they were only offered with the 5.7 or the 6.0

You could get it with the 6.2L. I sold a couple of them.

Glad you chimed in, I was sure we'd seen a few with the 6.2 on here.
