1992 Prostar 205 Bow Seat Back Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the bow seat cushions from the gunnels of a 1992 Prostar 205?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

On my 95 (should be the same) the cushions have plastic barbed clips that push into holes in the fiberglass. You end up prying it loose by carefully prying behind it starting in a corner and working carefully down and across. If you need to pull the back under the windshield, it is bolted from under the dash. Here is a picture of a similar style clip. I think the vertical triangular cushion in the front is fastened the same way.

Thanks TresRiver,
That is good to know. I suspected that it would be a clip like that since there is no room behind the seats to get to a stud and nut.

My concern is that these clips are brittle and may break as I'm trying to remove the seats. I guess I'll deal with that if they do.

Thanks again for your reply.

I had good luck getting mine out, I think I only broke 2 or 3. There are a bunch back there so they went back in solidly. They cannot be replaced without opening up the vinyl to get behind the pad. It might help to make sure the clips are warm so they would be less brittle

Does anyone else have "magic tricks" to pull these type of clips without breaking them?
