tower speaker options

One more question.... I think this is it...

Current options I have selected are the 4 - 7.7 tower speakers cans with the lights... will I really notice much of a difference between 2 and 4 speakers?

What about the 7 vs 8s?

2 7s vs 4 7s ... not much... but 4 Look cooler.
now
2- 8s ...those are nice.

If buying NEW, save your $$$ and buy the 4 x JL 8.8 and AMP yourself,
the Tower comes PRE-Wired and they Bolt right on with JL brackets made for MC mounting.

You CANNOT order 4 x8.8 from MC at this time, Silver MC 8.8 JL won't fit.
Black 8.8 JL do.

all of this will be 50% $$ of MC option

So the 8s are noticeably better than the 7s? dealer made it sound like you do not notice a big difference.

low mids are much better vs 7.7 .. Ive had both.
7.7 get thin behind the Boat,

Mind, you will not get Bass out of either..

I honestly don't thing it's worth not getting the 7" screen with premium sound option because you also get dash speakers too. So buying aftermarket with time cost $$ saves little.

Yeah my dealer said the same thing, but we decided to option the 8.8's after reviews here, looking at the speaker specs and finding out that MC put a 400x4 bridge on those 8.8's instead of a 200x2 on one pair or a 400x4 on 2 pair of the 7.7's. Then I managed to speak with a local MC guy who had the 8.8s and swore by them.... FWIW... my logic...

I have an older boat obviously, but installed two more 7.7 cans last year, love it, definitely better sound to me, but then again, could just be justification for the new cans. Got them used so they were a cheap upgrade. Easy to install, just have to have the right tools, gets tight inside the cans when tightening them up to the tower. As for the lights, I like having them but you h ave to have the bimini closed otherwise the lights just sort of shine into the bimini and don't go anywhere.

We are taking about TOWER SPEAKERS. not the touch screen package
That is a must. Towers can be added anytime for cheap

Absolutely a noticeable difference.

Size typically matters, except comparing the 770 and 880 might be the exception. I think the 880 suffers a little in the mid-bass due to the pod size. This lets the larger 1.25" tweeter dominate just a little as compared to the 770's 1.0" tweeter. Take this with a grain of salt as I have not demo'd the 880 towers in a scenario where I had control over the tuning, amp power and music source. Peak output goes to the 880 but I think the 770 just might be a shade better sounding.
