Prop Question. 99 205V/X-STAR
I have a 99 205V with the 330hp LT1 engine. It has a 4 blade 14 x 20 prop on it that has been damaged & needs replaced. The question is, is this the best prop for this boat or is there something better? The boat has has very quick top speed but seems a little sluggish out of the hole. We do allot of wake boarding & surfing but with the size of the lake, we do allot of running around as well. Also, where is the best place to buy a replacement? Any thoughts or comments would be helpful.

The cast 14x20 that came stock is a good prop, but a newer CNC'ed prop will make a noticeable improvement. Send a PM to Eric at OJ Props with your boat, engine, and how you use the boat, and he'll have a good suggestion.

The acme 1235 is where it's at for boarding if u run anything over the factory ballast. Hands down it is the go to prop for loaded up boats......well until the most recent OJ 5 blade came out. However for your particular boat the 1235 specs are in my signature. OJ has a similar prop in specs. I just preferred the pull of the acme for my boat then the similar OJ as their specs are just a tad different.
It will push you to the max on your WOT ranges and you will drop 3-5 mph off top end but as far as surfing and boarding the 1235 will boost you quick. Also I believe you have the LTR engine not the LT1.

The 14.5x14.25 is the prop to have. The stock 14x20 had a lot of trouble getting out of the hole when I had the boat weighted out.
