Was this enough engine for this boat when loaded with ballast? Does it have dockstar?

Thanks

The autolaunch option will get you up easy on the 21' with the 5000 even when slammed

Yes it was plenty of engine. I never had any lack of power issues. Like mentioned already, the auto-launch feature makes planing with full ballasts and a load of people no problem.

No it doesn't have dockstar. If you're used to driving an inboard I can't see paying that much for dockstar. Even if you're not used to one, it takes minimal time to get used to them if you'll spend a little time around the docks practicing. Dockstar is great and has it's place...its just not for me at the price they charge for it.

Thanks for the info. I know this is a loaded question.....but how is the fuel consumption when surfing? I was just at the boat show recently and was informed that the new motor has really become more "efficient" if you will. Again, I understand that if you are paying that much for a boat, gas is going to be the last of your worries, but still like to ask the question.

Thanks

I have no idea. That's pretty much all we do is surf but I don't know how many gallons per hour or anything like that it uses. On a typical weekend we spent around $100 on gas (all bought at the Marina so over-priced) and put roughly 8-10 hours on the boat with the majority of that spent surfing and probably 1 hour pulling the kids on a tube (which sucks the gas compared to surfing). You can easily surf all day long on a tank of fuel.
