Our 2016 ProStar is IN!

I find it interesting the stories behind boat purchases especially when it comes to boats like MasterCraft and their customers. The journey of our first new boat purchase actually began many years ago in 2009 when Corey at Midwest MasterCraft sold us our 2002 ProStar 209 with a tower. We used the heck out of that boat and it never, ever (averaged 100 hrs per season in WI) gave us a problem. This boat fueled our passion and changed our lifestyle completely. Over the years we got sick of being trailer boaters and purchased a lake place to keep the boat. After we got our lake place our needs and use evolved. We still used the 209 a lot but we started to participate in course skiing and barefooting to which the 209 was not great at either. So something needed to change and at the time we weren’t sure about going full in on “ski” boat only. Based on this we worked with Corey to find a late model ProStar 190 as a second boat as this was a cheaper solution to buying a new 2014 ProStar at the time. That was a great next step because it confirmed that our boating needs changed in such a way that the 209 was barely used anymore. The tipping point happened in March of 2015 when I was asked to relocate to India for a minimum of a year. With these types of deals they really encourage you to sell everything you have in the US. In that “everything” basket was the 2 ProStars and I spent a lot of time on the phone with Corey on what to do for the sale and also how to plan out the future for a new ProStar. The boats sold the easiest of all things we sold and we moved to India boat free last summer. We did keep our lake place as this means so much to us and it was worth managing from abroad. It really sucked leaving America in the middle of summer but it was nice to dream about coming home to the lake and a new boat. The build-a-boat started for us last August and September. The process is really great and working with Corey along the way made even easier. I wish I had a count of emails he has returned in less than 24hrs but if I had to guess it was in the triple digits. We didn’t get a final choice done until late January of 2016. The toughest part was the style/look. I put together about 30+ ideas and stared at them for months but time was slipping away and we needed to make the call. I sat down with the family and we ground through all the ideas on the style/look of the boat. Then my wife had an idea to add the silver flake accents with a black panel and it closed the deal. Everyone was happy and Corey booked a production order for our boat.

It has been an awesome experience all around and I can’t thank Corey and the team at MidWest MasterCraft enough for all they did to help with demo rides and the massive amount of questions answered. They are really a exceptional team to work with. Doing this abroad presented challenges but we overcame them all. The boat was delivered to the dealer the end of March and we get home in mid-June. Enjoy the pics!
