Pour some antifreeze into the heater hose after blowing it out to take care of the water left in it.
I've just drained my boats' engine. LT-1 and now a MCX. No antifreeze for over 10 years now with unheated storage in cold temps.

Hmmm maybe I need to update the checklist for the heater. I have just drained but MCOCD does mandate it be added...

I use the antifreeze and just leave it in all winter, drain the manifolds and let it ride.
