Thanks for all of the wishes. At this point, they don't think I need to have a screw put in, but I will know for sure when I meet with the ankle specialist on Thursday. I have an Aircast on, and at the very least, no weight on it for 6-8 weeks. Don't know about ligaments yet, but I am hoping they are just strained or sprained. This is a real PITA!

I ended up having surgery on Friday, and they put 2 screws in my ankle. OMG this thing hurts now. Yesterday it felt worse than the day i broke it. Today, it finally feels a little better. I am now layed up for another week, which i wasn't planning on, but oh well. On the positive side, i will start rehabbing it in 2-3 weeks, and should have the boot off in 6 weeks. Still hopeful to get a set in before freeze up this fall, with different boots of course. Thinking Exo Pro.

No cast!

Awesome! Best wishes on your healing....

They put me on crazy drugs and lots of em.... when I did mine. Stopped after a few days because it was making me dumb but not taking away the pain (High volumes of vicodin {sp?} and percocet {sp?})

When doc says use it; DO IT! Walk as much as possible once you are allowed to. Hurts like ell but heals faster!

What ever doesnt kill you makes you stronger!

Jamison, Very sorry to hear, like every one says listen to the pt people and work as hard at that as you do on the course. I wouldnt put all your hope in another set of bindings but you never know many friends have done damage with every binding made it seems.

Last Sunday I to ended my course skiing again. The rope snaped out of my hands just getting up and tore the bicep muscle and some tendons at the shoulder and elbow. MRI shows everything, get one! I'll be lucky to get up on two and free ski again to close the season. Last summer I nursed 2 totaly recontrusted knees, there doing great now but....... keep the head up !

Do you want your feet to have some "looseness" in the boot/binding so when you fall they come out out, i.e., so the ski doesn't twist when you don't? Or? Lesson learned here I need to get straight, sorry.

Mine are tight enough that I typically stay in when I crash but at a fine line where either I stay in both or come out of both. Worst potential injury in my opinion is where one stays in....that seems to be where a twisting motion joint injury could occur.

This is what i prefer. I don't like loose boots, which is why i am going to switch to a hard shell with a plate that releases. I tried RS1/ Strada boots, but hated them because i never felt secure.
