Trailer VIN Number

Hi

I have recently imported a boat and trailer and am the proud owner of a 2000 XStar.

The problem I have is that the serial number indicated is C5-000038 and for a SA-01-PS205V but the paperwork I have is for a different VIN Number. Also the sticker is unreadible so I cannot pick anything up from there.

Is there anyone that can shed some light on this one?

Looks to me like that's the boat registration information, and not for the trailer. Some states don't title trailers, while others do. Not sure which way New York deals with them.

And some states do the opposite.......Title just the trailer and NOT the boat (here in Colorado)!

Is the VIN # the same as the Hull # on the back of the boat? I'd at least check that number with your title to see if they match.

Here is the boats details.
Basically to me it looks like the yellow piece is for the trailer and the blue one for the boat.
It is just that the sticker on the trailer is faded and the metal one indicates the following number which does not match any paperwork I have C5-000038. I have e-mailes Mastercraft and they have already replied asking for copies of the titles for me to reproduce a sticker or metal one.
Funny thing is that it went through customs on both sides without any hassles.

Hey,

I'm going through the same thing right now bringing a boat back from TN. The number above does look like the hull id number. On the trailer, check behind the passenger side wheel. Apparently there is a cross member tube and MC stamps the trailer VIN inside that tube. I'm getting the seller to check this tonight on my new boat/trailer so I can't confirm 100% that this is true but it seems to be the place to look when your sticker is faded.

Here is a thread I did when I needed to replace my tag on my trailer......

I repainted my trailer and I couldn't read my VIN # at all.

The original post third picture is the sticker that would normally have trailer vin. Appears the sticker was damaged as the bottom left corner is where the vin would be.

Just my luck with that sticker being damage. The thing is that just to the right the serial number states C5-000038, is that a normal type of number for a mastercraft trailer?

Thanks ski-me I read your post and contacted mastercraft. Bill Gaddis has replied and requested the title documents which I have sent through.

Are those the last few digits on your trailer VIN?
