I wish I could say I hurt myself saving a supermodel but it is just doing stuff around the house. I have some work ahead of me.... Any D.O.'s care to share their thoughts?

I suspect that x-ray is from a chiropractor? I have dozens of those over the past 40+ years and no two look the same, can shift your weight from one foot to another (based on area of back hurting) and it totally changes up the angles and measurements. I have fought back issues virtually my entire adult life (probably due to stupid stuff I did when younger, MX, Harescrambles, Enduro, football, tournament waterskiing, etc.) and will have drastic flare ups for no apparent reason. I’ve been to dozens of different chiropractors, PT, injections, acupuncture and also had 2 microdisectomies (2005 & 2009). Last fall I started having severe pains in lower back, down thru my hip into my right leg similar to prior to my last surgery, I fully expected to be going back in for another surgery to trim a bulging disc. I went in to a chiropractor my wife has used and after the 2nd visit, he said he wouldn’t touch me again until I saw an orthopedic and/or get a new MRI. Another friend told me about Airrosti and to give them a try before going under the knife again. So what the heck, made an appointment, they did a thorough evaluation including range of motion and said they thought they could cure my issue within 4 appointments. I thought I was going to die during the first but felt better immediately and by the 4th visit all was fixed without any pain. They do about 30-40 minutes of deep tissue massage that stretches the facia around the muscles, which in turn relaxes the muscle which is likely pressing on a bulging disc which in turn is pinching or applying pressure to one of the nerves coming out of the spine. Following this treatment, you then go out to another person that gives you about 20-30 minutes of exercises and your own method of doing similar massage using a lacrosse ball against a wall (at least that’s what it was for my issues) that you can do 2-3 times a day between appointments (and if you ever have any flare ups). I would do my exercises first thing in the morning and then apply an ice pack to my back for the drive in to work. Then repeat throughout the day in my office and again at night. It was a miracle!

To say I was skeptical is an understatement but I am a very firm believer now.

I had to strip down for mine recently...and I cropped out my junk.

I'm three weeks after my back lockup. Ortho Dr. told me to wait and see, and since I already go the gym (when I feel like it), she gave me 20 pages of simple core exercises to do at home.
I don't believe that there is one magic cure for everyone, but I do agree with pmkkdx on a few points. I "believe" that my problem is a muscle issue....but I could be wrong.

Since I'm 56, I'm going to incorporate the core exercises with my normal workouts and see if I can get the wife to give me lower back massages. If I feel confident, I'm going to give skiing a shot this weekend. If I feel even the slightest twitch in my back, I'm letting go.
