Looking for x45

Me and my family have been looking to purchase an x45 and was wondering if anyone knew of any for sale on this forum that somebody has. Preferably around a 2007 model. We have found a few on only inboards but every time we get a chance to ask about one itís already sold thatís in our price range haha.

It took me a long time to get my 08, I wanted the 6.0 motor and glad I waited for it. Itís the beginning of the season and worst time to buy a boat. Especially being budget oriented, and one of the most popular models as well. Donít get tempted to go with the 5.7 if you plan on surfing.

Hey cwarndahl thanks for your reply. We just found one yesterday that we are going to look at Saturday. Itís an 06 x45 with the 5.7 motor in it. It has 250 hours on it for 40k (thinking we can talk him down a little bit). On our boat now (which is a 2009 Tahoe q5i) we cant wakesurf behind it because of the outboard engine on it unless we want to lose a few fingers or toes lol. So we have always just been big into wake boarding but we were really wanting to get into wakesurfing. What kind of diffence does it make with the 5.7 motor with wakesurfing?

That is a lot of boat/ballast for that motor for surfing. At the very least, you'll likely need to change props if it hasn't been done already.

I would not recommend the RTP or MCX 5.7L in the X-45. Look for one with 6.0L or 8.1L. If you find one with the 5.7L and just love it in your price range you can make it work. Just be prepared to prop it down for your needs.
The 45 likes lots of ballast to produce a great surf wave unless you install Go Surf Assist(GSA). I have been playing with different wake shapers in an attempt to run less ballast and not drop $4500-5000 on GSA.

With the 6.0 your going to gain 50hp and hey a little more weight where it counts and I belive you get Thad larger fuel tank 95 gallon tank again a plus on the weight side. I run over 4000 lbs of ballast and GSA. The boat makes a good wave listed and with some new shapers. I like the speed and wave creation of GSA and it keeps up with modern day boats. I also propers the boat with a Acme 2231, I did a 1285 but 2231 still has just a bit more hole shot. The 5.7 just should not have been put in the boat. Especially with the way we use them 10 years later.

Where are you located? Elevation makes a difference. I have an 07 6.0 I would entertain parting with, not at 40k. A friend of mine bought a 5.7 x45 and sold it a month later and he did try three different props. A 6.0 is good and an 8.1 is great.

I just purchased an 08 X45 and was wondering what wake shapers you guys have found work the best on an X45. I waited until I could find an X45 with the 8.1. Never been on one with the 5.7 but it seems to be the consensus of those that have that it is under powered.
