Is this normal

2010 X-15 with Zero Flex 3 Tower.

I've been trying to track down a tower squeak / rattle so I went around the tower looking for loose bolts. I tightened up the rear mounts that connect the rear support legs to the boat. I also noticed this which is on both front support legs where the tower folds forward. Is this normal?

I also noticed that the support arms that connect the rear legs to the top section has the bolts opposite each other. On the port side the bolts are facing the front and on the starboard side the bolts are facing the rear. (no pics of this)

Yes, that is normal. When you take the tower apart to fold it down, the hinged clamps "hang" on those bolts with the washer.

I have a 2008 X-15 and thought I had a tower rattle as well. Turns out it was the dash that was rattling or squeaking where it snuggs up against the gelcoat. drove me crazy trying to find where the noise was coming from. Still haven't figured out how to keep it from rattling.
