Heading up to Hyco Lake for a few days the weekend of June 8th- 11th. Anyone around that weekend? Need to find out where to go. And a good surf spot.

beautiful lake.

a few things: They do require you to purchase a daily or yearly permit. Its either $25 a day or $75 for the yearly pass. We camped for 3 days a few weekends ago there so we just got the yearly permit. you have to put your tower down to get under the highway 57 bridge. the marina gas station has a restaurant (heard is pretty good) right up the hill and a convenience store. watch for kids on jet skis.

besides the above, the main channel north of the highway 57 bridge (go out of boat ramp and go right) is pretty wide open and a good place to surf with a long straight stretch.

Taking the tower down to go under the bridge sucked. But other than that we had a great time.

Oh and the restaurant was closed for renovations. Really sucked because I had to take the tower down again to go over there only for it to be closed and go back to the camper to eat.
