I thought much of the same.

Where in upper midwest?

No problem. It took me a few rides to realize that the plate was being used. When I switched up the weight configuration and removed the tab I find the wake became a lot better.

Many have asked about running Full Ballast, but I have found that it very hard to do because of the amount of weight that is in the rear. You would need more weight in the bow to level out the boat to run full ballast. Also, like many have said for surfing, the more weight in the center of the boat really makes the wave bigger.
