X30 demo

Man! The X30 has a killer wave!

Did the demo yesterday with:

Hard tanks - KGB and port full
Bags - 750 port rear locker, 750 under port seat
Driver and 1 adult port side

Killer long great wave!

Tossed another 750 on the seat and I think it is the best wave I have ever ridden and I have now been behind every major brand boat surfing except Malibu!

I will be getting an X30!

Mike,
Is yours a 2012 or 2013? I have to start working on a price as the fun negotiations game begins. I recall the great deal you got but was not sure of your year?

Thanks so much for your input at Polar Bear and your weighting tips!

Davis

Have you been behind the 25? Can you compare the 2?

I have not been behind an X25. In my boat shopping I basically went to all the major manufacturers and asked to demo their best surf boats. At least 2 different Mastercraft dealers claimed that the X30 was currently their best wave and that the X10 was the shorter more economical version soon to come.

Overall, in the surfing community Mastercraft has not been known to produce good surfing boats as demonstrated by my current 08 X2.

But I have to admit that at the moment the X30 is a pro level wake surf wave producer. And I am comparing this to Tige Z3, Centurion Enzo, Sanger, Supreme, G23 (well G23 was not properly weighted but I dont want to pay 140k so I let it go)

In the Mastercraft family I only have personal experience with the X2 and now the X30. V-man had an X45 and recently switched to the X30. He may have further knowledge of other boats in the MC line, but I think he will agree that the X30 is currently their very best surf option.

^^Thanks, my concern is that if I go to the 30 just for surfing I am sacrificing too much (wakeboard wake, smooth ride).

Kimper. Glad to hear the demo went well. We have about 50 hours already on our 2013, and we could not be more pleased. It would appear that the price negotiation should go pretty good for you, especially since the dealer allowed you to throw an additional 2000+ pounds on the boat. Good luck, we will be looking forward to pictures of your new 30.

Nick. We surf with THE WOONS who own a 25. Ryan will be able to share some of his thoughts on how the two compare. I feel the 25 has a good surf wake, but the 30 has a better shape. The 30 surf wake is cleaner and has a ton of push at the back. That being said, I also think the 25 handles the rough water a little better than the 30. I have heard, and read that the 25 makes a world class wakeboard wake. I have also heard good things about the 30's wake. Bottom line, I don't think it's necessary you switch to the 30 just for surfing. But, if you are undecided or ready to upgrade, then I would definitely consider the 30.

I posted my comparisons on the two in one of many threads on this forum talking about the 30 vs 25. Btw, who's the asian dude who does all his tricks with his eyes closed?

Lol....I can't decide! The 30's gel scheme doesn't do anything for me, and it sounds like now you can't do flake touching flake any new factory orders.

Sounds like you are like me. I've been bouncing back and forth on getting a new 25 or 30. It's been killin me. I think I'm going to go ahead and keep my '11 and see what they change for the 14s or maybe 15s. I'm curious if they will change the 25 in the upcoming years.

Oops that pic I added is my stock wake. I'm 5'11 that's a nice pile of water (disregard the poor landing form).
Point is I don't want to sacrifice wakeboard wake for slightly better surf wake.

I also really don't care for the Gel Scheme. If I wind up ordering from factory I plan on getting a solid color and designing a custom wrap. Currently I am waiting for the boat show incentives to come out hopefully in December.
