X30 Gen2 setups

What are your guys settings on x30s? I have Gen 2 and 750s in the rear. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere if you guys want to point me in the right direction.

Lots of long threads about this, but to sum it up and maybe save you a few hours of reading - with 750's in the rear, most people have good success with adding a little lead to the bow (I have #150 under the coffin seat to offset driver and #250 in bow). Lead is not needed, just a popular add - but really depends on how many people you have sitting in the back of the boat - if you get 6 people all sitting in the back and no lead in the bow the boat will be too back heavy.

Anyways, I find that if the boat is completely level, or maybe slightly listed to surf side it will throw a clean wave on the port side with 0% center tab and 75-100% surf tab. I use as little surf tab as I can that results in a clean wave. Sometimes that is 75%, but 100% always gets me a clean wave. As a side note, mine is 2014 which was retrofitted with Gen2, so I have heard on newer boats the tab position may not be the same - i.e. maybe on the newer boats 60% is the same as my 100% or something. I personally like to run about 11.2 mph, the extra speed makes it harder to stay in the wave, but firms up the lip for airs. I usually leave it at 10.9 for everyone else, which seems to be a good, powerful wave that is not too short.

On the starboard (goofy) side - 100% center tab, 100% surf tab, boat slightly listed. This wave is clean, steep and powerful, but not much room to change the shape or anything - anything less than 100% tabs and it gets washed out, but it is a beautiful wave. I run 11mph on the starboard side.

hope that helps.

Dialing It In

In our '14 X30, I have two 850's in the rear and just last weekend put 10 50lb Lead Wake bags in various places in the boat. The first set up was with 250lbs of lead in each coffin with 7 riders in the boat, 3 in the bow. We all ride goofy and the wake was very big, but a little mushy at the top. I then took 100lbs of lead and moved them up to the side lockers. The lip tightened up and gave a good push. I'm still thinking I should move to 150lbs in the mid-ship lockers, with the additional 100lbs of pushed to the back of the bag lockers. I will say that the extra 500lbs has made a nice improvement over the 850lb and center tank set up. We did not adjust the tabs yet, as we're eliminating one variable at a time. I'll post again after this weekend.
