Dimming Dash Lights?

We just did our first late night trip on our lake over the weekend. The 20+ miles went way better than I had thought. The only problem that I had was the dash lights were way too bright. I had to keep turning them off to take a good look around.
Does anyone have a good plan to add a dimmer to these?
The boat is an 07 X2.
Thanks!

Our 08 has a dimmer. Thought all newer models did. It is hard to see at night with them on.

Hmmm. Mine does not. Is it a wheel like in a car?

It's a small black sprung rocker switch that you click and it will turn the brightness up and down. It's on the right side of the dash below the metal toggle switches. I will see if I can find a pic of it.

This not my dash but see the 2 plastic rockers below the normal metal toggles on right side of dash.

I know for a fact that my boat does not have a dimmer. I always throw a towel over the dash and put a strip of electrical tape over the stereo remote screen.

Funny that some have it and some don't. I'm certain our friends 2007 x-star has it and our friends 2010 x-2 but I'm not 100% sure. I will check next time I'm out with them. Perhaps it's an option when you order them.

My 06 does not have it. The 2 rocker switches on mine control the speedo adjustment and the multi funtction guage (depth, temp, etc).

I have a display and a speedo rocker. If the display one is a dimmer, I never knew what this is. Dumb on my part. We are going out this evening, I'll check.
Thanks!

Looking at Thrall's post - that is the same as mine. The display scrolls through the depth, hrs, etc.

So - Back to original question - Any ideas on adding a dimmer??
