3 or 4 blade prop for TBI PS205?
I'm trying to find out what would be a better choice for my 96 PS205 TBI 350, 3 or 4 blade? I don't ski, occasional wakeboarding and tubing. I'm not worried about top speed, would like to get out of the hole and improve cruising. I have a 13x13 3 blade now. Boat runs fine, gets out of the hole OK, but reading your posts suggests there is some performance to be found with prop tuning. Back to searching forums, thanks.

I read some of the other posts and contacted Eric at OJ. He suggested a 13x13 Force 4 blade. Any feedback? Some of you seem to be using this prop, are you happy wih it? Notice a difference? Thanks for your time.

Another prop to consider is the Acme 541. It is a 3 blade CNC prop and is still my favorite after testing several others.

Keep in mind, Eric will send you a prop to try out for free. If you don't like it you ship it back. If you do you keep it and pay. Let me know if you need more info on speeds and times. I have it somewhere....

I think I had a 13x11.5 CNC 3-blade OJ on mine back in the day, and it was noticeable better hole shot and acceleration.

Contact Eric from OJ, he will get a prop for exactly what you want to do.

For primarily wakeboarding, I think most of the prop manufacturers would suggest a four blade.

Everyone I talked to said the three blade Acme 543 (13x11.5) was best for ballast (1500+) in 205s. I like it a lot, with weight it doesn't struggle to get on plane like it did with my old 4 blade stamped steel prop (michigan something). For cruising I would imagine 13x13 would be better for running lower RPMs and the Acme 541 should get you the hole shot you're looking for but I don't know anything. Good luck and report back on your new prop.

When I had my 205, I asked Bill at Acme about the 541 versus whatever the 4 blade equivalent was. That was the basis of my answer. For what it's worth, I had the 541 on my 205 and loved it. But wasn't wakeboarding behind it.

The 541 is the only prop that I tested that didn't compromise either top end speed or hole shot. Of course I have a few more HP than the original poster, but I get phenomenal hole shot and a top speed of 48 mph (verified with GPS).
