shipping tower

I have an opportunity to purchase a ZFT0 tower for a 205V mod but the tower is in NC and I'm in Dallas
To my understanding the tower does not break down and will need to be shipped/delivered whole
Can anyone verify this and what would be the best company to handle this size

Talk to a trucking broker. You may be able to find one of their associates looking for a trip back. Wouldn’t have any guaranteed times, but might be the cheapest option.

Seems like it would have to go freight. Will the seller put it on a pallet for you. If it's on a pallet you should be able to enter the size and weight and get shipping quotes. I'm guessing LTL freight for it is $3-400

I have had good luck with Greyhound bus lines for inexpensive shipping of large and awkward items. If she’ll fit underneath in the luggage compartment, this might be the cheapest way to go.

I shipped my tower to California a few years back. Wrapped it in carpet to protect it, and bolted a 2x4 between the tower leg ends so they wouldn't get squished. I'll try to find the info on who I used.

Post 24 has a picture of my tower wrapped. In the thread I said it was $900 to ship round trip from Ohio to Cali. So I assume you'll be quite a bit less.

Mine was $230 shipped from CA to WI through and LTL carrier. They just shrink wrapped it and I set up shipping. I do use a broker at work though so I get good pricing.
