Tower Speakers Advice Needed

Advice needed: I'm looking to add on some tower speakers; but, I don't know where to start. Reading online here it sounds like I will need another amp to power the new speakers. I am wanting to have a good enough quality for surfing & tubing; but, primarily floating in the water without having to crank up the inside of the boat. Below are a few things that are running through my head.

1. Thinking about adding four speakers; but, is there a good enough sound system to just add two?
2. Name brand and model for some good quality speakers?
3. Where to purchase?
4. Amp size?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! This will be going on a 2005 X45 if that matters.

Aside from any size, type, brand and quantity, the trick for this is zone control, primarily for the in-boats at least. Dual zone is best.

1) Yes
2) Wet Sounds Rev-10 will give you all the volume most people need and still deliver great sound quality.
3) I always like to suggest building the local relationship first with an authorized dealer/installer. next, go through a reputable authorized online dealer if no local option. This is important for making sure they get you fixed up with what you need. They can offer setup and tuning guidance.
4) Wet Sounds Syn-DX2.3HP

I agree I was thinking about going with 4 Rev10s and decided to do just 2. I have a 2007 X30 and needed to replace the JL speakers. I figured if 2 weren't loud enough to add the other 2 later but its plenty loud. Plus with two you save some head space, the speakers hang pretty low on the tower so the guys are thankful they're not constantly bumping they're heads or having to duck.

I installed 2-Rev10’s and they are more than enough for us, unless you are wanting to be the loudest boat on the water. If you go with 4 speakers my local shop recommended to me 4 rev8’s over the 10’s they said they feel the sound is better with the 4-8’s. Or you could always wait for the new 12’s?

Lol, I have literally never heard anyone say 4 rev 8s sound better than 4 rev 10s.

That’s just what’s they told me, it is a very large shop. I feel they have no incentive to sell me on one or the other?

The rev-8 is not a bad sounding speaker by any means, but no amount of 8" HLCDs are going to deliver the mis-bass depth of larger 10" speaker.
