An expensive day at the dealer

Took my 07 X15 in for its first 100 hour service yesterday. Ive never done the 100 hour service before as Ive always done my own maintenance. I learned that the engine oil weight has changed from 15w-40 to 25w-40. The transmission fluid is still 15w-40.

I'm having them resolve my depth finder issue that I'm unable to fix it.

I really like my dealer, hope everything goes ok.

Zach

At my MC dealer it's $1500 just for that service not including the depth finder issue.

I dont see the advantage to a thicker cold start viscosity. What there a brand change or a switch from automotive to marine, etc?

Not buying that thicker is better change either. 15w50 and let it get up to temp while we fill ballast and empty a beer, then go. I would run 10w-40 if it was easier to find locally, but no one likes to carry the jug of Mobil1 in that weight. Curious what your oil temps are before engine is warmed up.

1100?!?! For what? Does the oil have gold flakes in it?

Can you break that down into what costs what?

So happy I do my own maintenance right now.
