Ring gear and damper plate for 85 slot
A few teeth on my ring gear are showing some wear (the starter didn't engage). I plan on changing the damper while I'm in there. Looking up old threads, I didn't see any pertaining to an 85 pcm. Most are 87 or newer. My question is, will the damper (ebasic power) that fits an 87 indmar, fit the pcm (351 ford)? Same for the ring gear.

Did you call ebasic and ask them? They or Skidim might have a better idea of the application cross fit stuff.

I am not sure if its the same but I just replaced the ring gear on an 87 mercruiser 260. The replacement ring gear was only about $20 bucks and not difficult swap at all.

Dampers are transmission specific and are "universal" on the engine side. If you have a velvet drive, the ebasic damper will work. SkiDIM sells the same piece, but they mistakenly list it as a "GM damper".
If you want to pick up the ring gear locally, you most likely need a 157 tooth. The auto cross reference is for a mid 60's Ford Mustang with a 6cyl and manual transmission. |

I have not checked with ebasic (yet). Yes, I have a velvet drive 1:52-1.0. Thanks for the info.
