2007 X-30 steering cable replacement

I am changing the steering cable on my 07 X-30. The replacement cable I was sent is 5ft longer than the original cable (including the rack). The guy that gave me the part said that Mastercraft updated those cables and "added a loop" between the rudder attachment and the wheel.
There doesnt seem to be enough room anywhere to add the "loop" and I don't understand the point of adding extra cable. Has anyone replaced this part and did you use a longer cable for the replacement?
