What size impeller puller?

Jabsco sells two different size impeller pullers. One is up to 2.5 and the other is 2.5 to 5". I have a 2010 X2 what size of puller do i need?

I assume it's the large one but want confirmation.

I have this one... http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=6503606 but rarely use it.. impellers comes out annually so it never sticks.

I tried the two paint can openers. Got it about 1/8th out. Bumped the starter and etc... No luck.

I used to use a puller when I had my 05 supra ssv 22. not very much clearance on the x2. I have found that removing the cover and spraying just a little wd40 then bumping the starter the impeller pops right out. give this a shot before buying the puller.

I used wd-40 too. Still no luck. Problem is impeller is at the stern so you are hanging over the motor trying to push the impeller to the rear of the boat. Hard to get any leverage. I thought based off all the post it would come out but I gave it a very good effort. I did the two paint openers with no luck. I have a very small pair of channel locks and was able to get it out a little. Then I sprayed with wd-40 and bumped the starter. Tried again to pull out and no luck. Bumped the sarter again, and still no luck. Probably spent 30-45 minutes total to get it out.

hmm, that is interesting. we have the same boat and I used the impeller puller the first time and after some bloody knuckles I finally got it out. I have been using the wd40 for 5 years and have had no issues.

in re: to size I don't remember. I sold mine to a supra guy.

16 years owning my MC and I had no idea an impeller puller tool existed...

If it's that stuck, have a replacement on hand, you're going to destroy it on the way out... get two screw drivers and go to town on it. give it hell.

I too had no idea such a tool existed, the x-star is not as bad as my x-15 was due to motor placement.
