Reliable actuator electrical connection

Please help? On my 2008 Xstar trailer the solenoid valve of the reliable actuator is connected to my left hand indicator. I would have thought it should be on an auxiliary line and go to the reverse lights of the car. Can anybody advise.

It should go to the reverse lights on the tow vehicle.

Thinking about it more: If the solenoid works like mine (bypass when powered) you would have no brakes with it wired to the left turn light since it is hot when braking.

Thanks, for your reply. I believe this is exactly what my problem has been. Do not understand who wired this girl.

You would be much better off with the solenoid not wired than you were with it wired into the brake/turn light. Basically the only time you had brakes was when you were trying to back it!
