Spark Plugs

My LTR calls for AC Delco MR 43 LTS plugs. My local NAPA store ordered me some in and they said that this number has been discontinued and it is now just called #8. They look slightly different than the old ones. Are they really the same and without the MR designation I am wondering if they are a marine plug? Anyone else run into this?

You pay like $5 bucks a piece for those? that's a platinum plug.

Tell me about it! And they say that is the direct replacement for the MR 43 LTS. I think they are out to lunch. I'm going to order them from Summit and take those back. It's hard to tell but I don't think they appear to be stainless either so I doubt they would be recommended for marine use.

I think NAPA ordered way too many of the wrong sparky plugs.. - even recommending the wrong ones north of the border.

I returned them today and let them know that I got what I wanted in the first place for less than $2/each at Summit Racing.

You can google the specs for AC spark plugs and compare, if you want. As long as they match, you should be OK. NAPA has been telling people that the MR43LTS is disco'd for a long time and when I asked earlier this year, I was told that they're still available. Whether that store wants to order them is another story, especially if they said the #8 was in stock (tells me they just wanted to make a sale and move inventory).

If anyone finds CR43LTS, THAT would work fine- the C stands for 'Commercial', but the other specs are the same.
