Boat looks great!
Thanks.

I used a HF rotary with 8" pads.
1st pass - 3M 05954 super duty rubbing compound with wool pad
2nd pass - 3M 06064 perfect-it polish with 3M 5725 black foam pad.

Honestly, it shines like crazy, however there are swirl and sanding marks that I may or may not address. You can only see it when you are a foot or 2 away. I only buffed the vertical surfaces, rub rail and down. It doesn't help that it is black!

I have about 9hrs into buffing, I don't want to do it anymore. This was my very first attempt at rotary buffing.

My friend was over with his PC 7424 and some fine cut glaze and it looked even better. Here is a before and after (we only tested a small section):

Thermostat

The thermostat housing was leaking, so I took it all apart and found no gasket. Also, the temp gauge hovered around 130 during water test. I took the thermostat out and dunked it in hot water. I noticed that is started to open/close at the 120 mark. I ordered a new 142 and gasket. Same hot water test with new t-stat shows open/close as advertised. So hopefully the temp will go to normal now.
Temp gauge still reads 120/130. I will test the sender and gauge from the info I found here:

http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...t.do?docId=842

I have a 142 t-stat in it. What is the normal operating temp you guys are seeing?

I run the 142 t-stat and my temp is right on the 140 line on the analog guage.

My temp stays low too, around 120 to 140.

Have you seen the thread on here about BAWS still doing decal sets? Pretty soon you can brand her back up. Looks great!!

IIRC, my pylon is 2.5", correct? I'm asking since a skylon for 3" pylons is 4 sale locally. I have access to a machine shop so I can make a spacer. Thoughts?

Scored a Skylon locally for $80

Picked it up during my lunch break. It was advertised for 3" pylons, however measured ID at 2.6", so all I need to pick up is some of that mesh protector sleeving.
