The 285 hp motor was the most common in the 92 and 93 models. The stock (250 hp motor) has the benefit of coming standard with a 4160 carb instead of the 4110 that was so problematic and often replaced. I'd rather buy a 351 and add GT40p heads than swap the carb. Cheaper. After that, the horsepower is the same or better since you should probably put an intake in as well at that point.

As for the brakes, its probably in need of a new actuator (guts) and new brake lines. Probably $400-$500 as mentioned. Deals and vinyl will be reproduction. Probably not huge money if it's just in a couple of spots. I'll split the difference at $9,000 on the high end without seeing pictures.

Thanks East Tx Skier. Good thing to know the specific carb #s, I'll look for that when I see the '92 in person I had originally started the thread about. No pics yet I'm just working on a talkative but computer sans original owner on that one.

Just today I found another '94 w/351 very close to home but I'm waiting on more details.

94 will either have a throttle body injected Chevy 350 (275 hp) or an LT-1 (310 hp). No Ford 351s from 94 on.

Thank you. Odd, the owner claims his '94 has the 351. Perhaps it has had a motor change or it's really a '93 or something... It's local so hopefully I'll be able to take a look at that one in person today and see what is up.

Yep, with the Ford its right up top/front. I've owned a Ford 351 Marine, and a Dodge 360 in a van but never any Chevys short of straight 6. That said, I just found some good pics of the 350 Chevy in a 190 to get a quick eye for telling them apart. I ran into one seller of a '94 190 that wasn't sure which motor he had, so that makes me feel a little better haha!

Well, went on boat safari this weekend but turned up boat less.

Update:

Well..... via a change of events it looks like I have found my boat after all. The one I started this thread about, sorry no pics but I have seen it up close in person. More details to follow through on but thanks folks, if all goes as planned I should be on Center Hill lake next spring on nice new (to me) ride!
