I've been wakeskating without shoes for 2 years without any issues.
I have the padded deck, and never even thought about wearing shoes. I just use it for cruising, and small jumps, nothing fancy. The kids and guests ride it. It's nice not having to mess with different bindings for everyone. And No Shoes on the boat. I have an extra in great shape that I don't use. I'll send pics if interested. |

Skate shoes. It's best to have flat soles.

Our group wears Converse and Vans... and a helmet.
Some have designed their own Converse, pretty cool. http://www.converse.com/on/demandwar...yLanding-Page4

Got myself a nice injury once just goofing around with no shoes. Always wear them now. I've never worn a helmet, but I don't have much to damage in that arena...

Just to gang-pile the idea of wearing shoes while on a wakeskate, a buddy of mine split a full thickness 2" gash between his big toe and his 2nd toe from a skate fin (older cassette deck with 2-3" fin). Up to this day he can't run or wakeboard due to pain after the surgery. Wear shoes! Go to walmart and cheap chuck taylor knock offs for $10.

I got a set of dvs skate shoes made of 100 percent recycled plastic bottles. They are light, hold almost no water, and were like $10. Got um at the-house.com
