Looking at about $40k, though I have a contractor friend who says he can build for $25-30k

Its just duck weed and i'm on a river. Its normally never there in that quantity. Very busy weekend in the marina pushed it all towards the back where my boat is. When we went out earlier no weed. When we came back I had to park in this. I also had to promptly bring it home after a few days and clean the daylights out of it.

I looked at those - we have deeper waterfront too and that design would solve a lot of problems. My concern is what to do with them in the winter.

You know how the ice melts back 20-50 feet from teh shore around a lake during the spring thaw? Once every 20 years or so, the wind blows towards our dock during winter ice breakup, and an iceberg the size of our lake moves in slow motion towards our shore and crushes every dock on our side of the lake. I'm not sure a bubbler would keep enough of a ring of open water around the dock to protect it.

we'd bubble, lucky we are in a smaller bay with no ice movement.

We are typically protected from the wind too.

How about a shot of dock in winter storage? Removing the dock yesterday, followed by the snow today, really made it sink in that the season is over for me.

That is a sad day, indeed. Seems to happen far too early, every year.
