X-2 Garage Door Height?

Helping a buddy buy his next boat.... first thing is first which year x-2 to purchase that will fit? He prefers to not go in with a partner as such older x-2's better but if he has to rebuild a garage door he might just go newer to save the hassel. How new does he have to go?

04 and older x-2/205v:
I know 04 and older x-2/205v with zero flex require 82 and 1/8" at the VERY minimum (best at 83 but 82 1/8 will fit)....so that means at his current door height of 80in it will NEVER fit.

I don't think this is posted anywhere so hoping someone can help us out.

2005 X-2:
fit in a 80in high garage door?

2006 x2:

fit under an 80in door?

2007 or Newer?

06 and newer are the pickle fork version and they are supposed to fit a 7' door. But it's tight from everything I've read here.

06 X2 will not fit under a 7' Door unless you disconnect the rear tower legs and lay one over the side of the boat and one inside the boat.

I attach a nylon strap to the port side wakeboard tower from the tow point and pick the leg up and set it over the port side. Strap holds it on the boat.

With the Starboard leg inside the boat (You have to remove the seat behind the driver) and the port leg over the boat and your front legs forward you can get it in out of a garage.

I've been doing it for 7 years, not my favorite thing to do. 07 boats can get in the garage without that manipulation I've been told.

I concur with Chief.

My 06 X2 will not fit into a 7 foot garage door. Mine is about 6 feet 10 inches, and when I tried it, it was off by about 10 inches, so even a 8 foot garage door might be tight.

So I also, lay the rear tower hoop onto the sunpad, and remove the hand screws hold it to the hull. I then completely remove the rear hoop and put the boat in the garage. The front legs that fold foward clear the 7 foot door no problem.

I only do that once a year (since I live on the lake). Multiple times a year would be a headache.

I have an 06 X1 with single axle trailer. As long as I rotate the board racks 90 degrees it fits in my 7ft door. Keep in mind the approach has a lot to do with it. Does the driveway slope up to the garage, down to the garage, is there a lip, or dip. All affect how high the boat will be on its approach.

I have an 08 X2 single axle with 8' doors. It makes it in just fine with the tower folded to the sun pad, but I can't see it working on a 7'.
