Gee, I wonder why? If we didn't love these boats, then this thread wouldn't exist.

210 VRS Purchase Questions

Hi All,

I am looking to pick up a 2000 210VRS for about $20k. I haven't seen it in person yet, but supposedly is in good condition w/o any mechanical problems. Not really any extras on it but a boat cover and a single axle MC trailer (no folding tongue). It also has the 330LTR engine. $20k seems kind of high to me, but just wanted to get the opinion of some people that are more knowledgeable than I. Also, did the Maristars come in different trim packages? It seems that some guys have them with hot/cold transom showers, upgraded stereo systems, etc.. What options were available on that model year? Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

Pictures would help some, but if the boat is in excellent condition with low hours, I would say that's pretty close to what it's worth. There were of course a lot of color trim options, not sure about other options. Hot/cold shower can be added as well as an updated sound system. The sky (or your wallet) is the limit as far as what you can add (tower, bimini cover, perfect pass, etc.) I always try to buy my next boat about this time of year, or later. It's not the best time of year to sell, good time to buy. Sellers are usually more flexable on their price.

I will be going to look at it next week and can take some pix. It's the exact same color scheme as LaRue's Maristar. Otherwise, I do know that it's got 444 hours on the engine so not too bad. I don't know how long it's been for sale, but hopefully I can negotiate a lower price as I'd like to get a bimini top and perfect pass this fall. Not to mention the cost of getting two boats winterized as well. Thank you for your input.

This is the second thing I have actually done to the boat. It was a cinch though.

Just installed a 2 bank charger on my 2001 X10 (Maristar 210 VRS). It is so nice not to have to pull out seat cushions, remove battery box covers and move my single charger from battery to battery! Now just open the rear locker and plug it in! Awesome!!

I got the NOCO Genius GEN2 12V+12V 2-Bank 20 Amp Smart On-Board Waterproof Battery Charger from amazon. I like it so far.

Next up is installing the Bennett X14 trim tab I just ordered! Quickly followed by a FAE and 2700 lb of new ballast system! Going to be a busy off season!
