Strange Radio Volume Issues

On my X-25 this morning I had strange issues with the radio volume. We were parked and the volume would start to rise and no of the remote controls or the radio unit volume could adjust it off max volume. I did it several times and I kept thinking on of the keypads volume buttons was stuck. On the way in it did not do this. Anyone ever experience this and have any idea as to cause/remedy?

Thanks in advance!

This happens when one of the + volume control buttons gets stuck. So you're right.

I'd isolate which remote may be causing this by:

1. Unplug all the remotes and ensure the head unit isn't the problem.

2. Assuming that isn't the problem, have someone working the manual control to turn on/off the power to the radio.

3. Turn off the power and connect one of the remotes, then have the other person turn on the power. You could do this by yourself, I'm suggesting having someone to avoid blowing a speaker.

I'd leave the Y cables out of this problem for now, once you find the remote causing the problem, then hook up all the others.

It is likely the remote you use the most frequent that the volume + is sticking. So another way to find the source could be to start by disconnecting that remote first. Could save some time. Second guess would be rear transom remote.

I had this happen with my wireless floating remote... The rubber gasket is torn and water leaks into it.

I can't think of another way this happens other than that.

thanks Kahuna. Is there some spray or contact cleaner needed to remedy the remote pad key?

Strange Radio Volume Issues

For mine, I took the remote apart to dry off the contacts.

When my rear transom remote failed, it would mess up the controls on the touch screen.

Not sure WD-40 would be the best spray.... Maybe some other spray or a bag of rice.
