Sorry i wasn't able to post my trans video quick enough. Let's just say that after watching your video and hearing my trans, i think pulling it is a good plan. You got a lot of work done in a short amount of time. Spring should be fun after some winter time trans refurb.

Here a teaser of my side decals Mike made for me, they are replacing the Maristar on the sides.

I can't wait to get them and put them on.

Were you able to completely eliminate the shadow from the original MariStar decals? My boat had far less sun damage than yours but I was unable to completely eliminate it. I wet sanded extensively, then compounded and polished. It's still there if you look closely enough. I'd like to put similar MasterCraft decals over mine but I've thought it might make the old MariStar in the gel coat look more obvious. Did you ever put these decals on?

I was not able to completely remove the old outlines but I didn't really think it wouls show up much with the new decals.

I put all but the big MasterCraft on last summer. I will be getting the boat out of storage soon so hopefully I will get those on and take some pics.

Good to see you again hig! Was wondering if you had finished your boat. Did you ever get the issue with your transmission sorted out?

I just posted about my trans:

http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=61488

I don't see anything wrong with it internally.

So far I've recieved one reply that it's normal for the trans.

I'd step in with some brilliant insight on your transmission problem, but I've got nothing for you.

My trans is silent in neutral and forward, and has a whine in reverse. Nothing that sounds like rocks at idle.

Update:

I finally put the trans back into the boat. I ordered new seals for the trans since I had it all apart and I was talking to Alan at http://www.simplicity-marine.com/ and I told him about my noise. He immediately told me it's my dampening plate, he said around 4-500 hours the old plates can start letting the vibration threw. He recommended a vulcanized 2 stage plate and he had a couple of take off's with low hours that he sold me reasonably.

It completely solved my "rock in the trans" when I placed it in gear!!!

I now need to go thru the driveshaft alignment process again and finish putting it back together.

I might actually get to use it this year!!
