August 26, 2013 Update: Did not get as far as I wanted to on the deck!

Well, classic case of my eyes being bigger than my stomach or whatever the construction equivalent is as I had hoped to get the decking done this past weekend but some other things took over including a little R&R time on the water Sunday, which is always a good excuse!

So, exactly what did I get done.......well, I now have all but the final 10 floor joists in place and a few extra odd supports to put in but I plan to get that in tonight so to start decking it later this week. I also took down all of the training wheels (aka posts supports) as everything is nicely tied in now.
Getting closer!

Lookin good. I can't believe how much work you've done overall in a short amount of time. It takes me forever to get anything done at home....job...kids....boat....I get too distracted!!

My 2 year old son was a big help, handing me screws faster than I could use them and handing me my hammer (which he calls the Bammer). The best was when he was trying to put a pencil over his ear like mine was.....I about fell off the ladder seeing this one!

September 3, 2013 Update: Deck boards are all down now time for railing!

They don't call it "Labor" day weekend for just any old reason and I did my best to make it a "Laborous" weekend! Between barefooting saturday morning with a great group and spending all day Sunday with an even better group at Salt Fork, I did manage to get all of my deck boards cut, screwed down and trimmed! Now it is time to move onto railing and steps!!!

Just keep the right frame of mind and you will enjoy the adventure.....far easier said than done at times! Good luck and enjoy the ride, it is well worth it when completed (not that it is ever completed!)
