These damn thing do suck!

I was taken to the ER last Sunday morning in HORRIBLE pain, found out I had a stone, 5MM. Told to take meds and wait for it to pass. Back to ER again Wednesday the to a Urologist, given different meds at told to wait. Now its Sunday and nothing has passed, calling Surgeon tomorrow to schedule "procedure".

A week of the worst pain of my life, throwing up and limping through work is enough.

All of my knowledge about these is anecdotal, but a guy on the morning radio show has had them several times and he said he can't eat Spinach because they contribute to the development of stones. I would look at the rest of your diet. I keep reading and hearing that drinking lemon water is one of the best things we can do- supposedly, it becomes alkaline once it's in our digestive system. Not sure how that works, since it's fairly acidic.

I was out almost a month this summer with kidney stones again. One in each kidney, and four total "surgeries" to get clear. There is something very wrong with me in terms of blood/urine calcium oxalate levels. Believed to be hyperparathyroidism, but still waiting on final diagnosis.

One stone was 25mm x 12mm and the other "only" about half that size. That's about an inch long for those that don't want to do the conversion. And that was after being completely stone free in mid 2013. I'm hoping to get the true cause figured out ASAP as I'm very much over the misery of kidney stones.

I used to get them rather often. Don't have a good cure for the pain unfortunately. I found that mine are brought on by black tea. Green or white are fine It doesn't matter how much, just the regular tea. Even the pre-made teas are a no go for me. Haven't had a stone for quite a while now. Just no more regular tea for this guy! Sweet tea made with green tea is not too bad though Good luck - that pain is horrible!
