I think it is going to work with a short rope... not so sure about just the boom. MikeS said it was fine up to a 45 angle... but we will see.

A quick update.

We finally got the boom sorted. I ended up putting all 3 mounts on the large main tower tube. This required us to put one adjustable arm on above the main mount and the other below. We also ran the boom straight out behind the 'shock' for the tower and not in front of it canted so far forward.

There is a good bit of spray on the side of the X10 but it is not that much more than we used to get on the old 205.

I made a quick test run on just the boom and then with the short rope. My son made a couple of runs and we got his friend up for the first time.

I did not take any snaps today but I'll try and post some pictures next time we go in 2 weeks. If anyone wants to see the mount points before then let me know and I'll take some pictures while it is on the trailer.

That guy will tell you anything for a sale. That is not right. Period. I stopped doing business with BI years ago when he tried to feed me a crock about a boom. Best of luck but that is not a correct application (IMHO).

Not trying to insult your set-up at all. If it works for you, that's all that matters....

I have a 2013 x-10 also since it is as you said the "all round boat" and was looking into a boom. This one just does not look right, from the photos the bar is above the windshield which is great for some upward pull but I think it would be impossible to have a small child hang from it and have their feet even touch the water.

Let us know what you find out on this. Just based off of my boat having it mount somwhere around the base of the tower would still give plenty of height, but I know mounting spots are hard to find.

I ended up changing the setup a lot different than the original pictures. I am not going to get back to the lake until next weekend, but I'll try and post some updated pictures after that.

Update

Any update on this setup? How's the spray with the boom in this position? Especially on the short line.

Thanks!
