Did it restart or did you have to get towed?

I had to get towed. Luckily I had a neighbor that was down this weekend too and he came out and towed me in...towed in by a Malibu to add insult to injury.

My buddy has an 04 x star with same engine and same symptoms. Just stopped for no reason. We replaced fuel pump 25 hrs ago but don't hear it turn on with key. Also get no spark with timing light when turning engine over. Led me to believe bad kill switch so we wired it together but no change. Checked the breaker near the ECM but didn't appear tripped unless it's just extremely corroded. Any ideas?

check fuses relays.. and connections. chase down all connections and make sure they are clean and battery has good output.

I to have had the same problem. 04 X2 with an mcx. I have gone through 3 ignition modules and still have not found the problem.

My 07 Star did the same thing. It was the fuel pump. I bought a fuel gage for about $10. Turned the key and no pressure at the shredder valve. I read the thread on fuel pumps... Bought two. Fixed it in less than an hour. I am no mechanic either. I would say to make sure you use a nut driver to tighten the fuel hose back on to the pump. A screw driver just won't get the job done.
As far a running you boat with less than 1/4 tank... Don't feel bad with this being such a common problem, I was kinda po'd that my dealer never mentioned that I really only have 3/4 a tank to use.
The good news is that it's easy to fix... I thought I could get my MC mechanic to do if for me and just pay him to do it (I'm no mechanic). He probably did the right thing and told me he couldn't do that for me.
If you can turn a screw driver you can change a fuel pump.

Any updates? I replaced all of my borg warner parts in the ignition with AC Delco and everything seems to be status quo. Heading out to the lake in the morning to make sure everything is good. Hope you got it figured out.
