So the coil + wire gets juice only when in the start position, nothing in the run position.. The mechanic just called me to let me know, any quick answers to where the problem could be??

(edit) I should add that this is a new engine that I installed a pertronix distributor.. when I did, I removed the ballast resistor per the instructions, not sure if that would have anything to do with it...

I was thinking that at first, but now I'm wondering if I screwed up the wiring for the flame thrower coil and distributor. where does the coil get power from? I parallel wired the positive from the old ballast resistor as well as the positive from the distributor both on to the positive terminal on the coil. is this correct? the instructions were vague at best.

Thanks!! I'm Assuming That With My Setup (Flamethrower Distro + Flamethrower Coil) It Would Be The 3Rd Image Without The Resistor?
