Here are a few places I have used and will use again:

Yellowing Plastic parts
Carpet
Rims (have not had an issue but I try not to get it on the painted parts)
Aluminum and Stainless parts (BE careful not to get it on stickers.. it will ruin them)

It is amzing stuff on carpets and aluminum/stainless steel..... worry a little it will damage clearcoated metals though.
Caution....it can wear through clear-coated wheels.

it's actually a boat that is for sale on eBay that I was thinking about. The biggest thing that scares me is the boat has been ran in salt water

That's exactly my fear - I once upon a time completely screwed up a set of rims on my Jeep (TJ).... using "rim cleaner". the stuff melted the clear coat!

TA'd a couple of bad spots on the spare and felt it worked ok without issue. I Agree - use this stuff gingerly on coated metals!!!

Great on carpet and "relatively" inexpensive plastic parts!

I think one of the keys is to make sure you properly rinse or wash TA off after using it on vinyl. Then follow up with 303 or another vinyl treatment of your choice.
