Get larger/taller brackets for your platform. Probably have to get them from mc. My swim platform on my 02 x30 (230 vrs hull) my platform is basically pushed up to just under the rub rail. Makes re-entry a bit harder but it keeps the stock team platform out of the water when we surf.

Do you have any pictures or videos of the wake for boarding i have a 2002 maristar 210 that I'm thinking of adding ballast and I'm wondering what it would do to the wake

Interesting suggestion. I'll do some research. Thanks.

So I'm new to the thread, the MasterCraft, and the Inboard world. but grew up on boats on a lake so im anything but new to boats. i picked up an 89 Maristar 240 with the 454. i bought it with blown intake runner (I was unaware) now I gotta rebuild. im doing a long block with reuse of my factory manifolds and carbuerator (with a rebuild). I tried to run my HIN through Mastercraft but they could only run back to 1990 The two im concerned about is the 4th and 5th letters. mine are H H these specify ther 425 horsepower 454 with the 1:1 trans and a 1in prop shaft. Does anyone else have an 89 with HH in their 4th and 5th spot that have confirmed the true meaning of these for our year?

I nabbed my '00 230VRS 'cause it's what I could afford at the time (ie right before the great price tumble of '08/'09). Since I missed out on the >$30K X-30s, I'm gonna upgrade my family wagon as funds permit and wring the glass off the hull over the next few years. Already upgraded the stereo, amp, and speakers. Did some carpet reinstallation, new rudder cable, some trailer stuff, and a couple more odds and ends.

Next up I think the MariStar decals on the side are going bye-bye in favor of the naked look or maybe I'll replace 'em with some ProStar-style MasterCraft decals. I'm gonna hold out for a New Dimension tower rather than a cheaper universal. Once the tower is in I'll look into some V-drive, ski locker, and bow sacs with some good aftermarket pumps.

Been a while since I started this thread off and figured I'd update. Got the factory Zero Flex tower installed and promptly towed it out to Havasu. I did the 'ol ratchet strap trick to minimize tower flex on the ride out since the backing plate filler was only about 30 hours old.

I have a red MasterCraft bimini but the factory ones are kinda small and I have a big family. To keep my little kids and wife who sunburns quickly out of the Arizona summer sun I'm looking at new extended bimini options, but 'till then I made my old aftermarket black one work.

Hi all,

Been off the forum for a few years after selling my 1996 PS 205. I'm now back in the market for another MC, but only have about $20k to spend.

I still like to ski, but the kids (9 and 12) are more interested in boarding or surfing. We are also going out with more poeople these days so need something bigger than the 205.

There are 2 Maristars about 6 hours from me and i'm looking for your opinions. They are both 1998, one is a VRS 200 with 5.7L Vortec and a Tower, the other is a VRS 225 with the Corvette engine and no tower. They both have about 400 hrs on them and they are going for about the same price $19.5k Canadian.

I can gather from what I have been reading that the wake will not compare in any way to my PS 205 for skiing. I'm willing to give up some ski-ability in order to get a better rounded boat for the family. If i'm skiing 34 with some rope off how would you describe the wake on either of these? I'm also 41 now so i'm not doing the course anymore, just looking for a nice ski on glass waters

Also, i know i can add balast bag to improve the surfing etc., any wake plate etc., that i can consider to improve the ski wake?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Wake shots of our boat. Full fuel tank. Two adults. No ballast. 10 mph then 25 and finally 33. I hope someone finds this helpful.

New here, this is my 1991 210. Love it but thinking about getting into a newer MC.
