Rand, I've tried to find a pic of the Faria temp probe, but no luck. Is it a smooth probe or does it have any external threads? Thanks.

Finally got out to test my lake water temp gauge....we've had about 2 1/2 weeks of s#%t weather.
Worked perfectly with no leaks! What I did notice was that the reading is not accurate once the engine stops and the water stops flowing past the sensor....I was seeing a lot of heat soak from the engine....most of the heat was probably coming from the trans oil cooler just upstream of the sensor. Once the engine is started again the reading returns to normal.
