Stock clarion can conversion

Has anyone done the Wetsounds 650 swap in their stock clarion cans? Just wondering what mods are needed and the best method.

Just drill and tap four new mounting holes and notch the opening a bit with a file or Dremmel for the new speaker terminals clearance.
Odin, with Earmark, has the correct bit size, tap size and the machine thread bolts to ship with the speakers.

What you may find is Clarion had two mounting choices (inner and outer) back then. My in-boats used the inner holes, while my cans used the outer holes. As a result, my cans have the same pattern as my new 650s. Regardless, as David said, you do need to open up the inside mounting flange on the cans to allow the speaker terminals to clear. Good choice with the XS650s, I'm really impressed with them.
