engine detail

Just finished detailing the boat inside and out. When I lift the engine hatch it just looks BLAH. What are most of you guys doing to jazz up the motor without spending a fortune?

what i mean is that the engine either needs some chrome or the original componets need to be painted. Alternator, coil, water pump, valve covers and all the brackets look tired. When people see the boat they ask you to see the motor as well. Just would like it to stand out like the rest of the boat. The motor runs awsome, think it should look good too!

Go for it...there are some beautiful motors I have seen on restorations. the 351's have very cool valvecovers etc. - many 351 owners here have done it... check the engine compartment thread - there's pictures of what people have done.
